Once again I teamed up with Director TJ Walsh on this production at Trinity Shakespeare Festival. It is one of the shows I am very proud to have been a part of. I have been working in the theatre for 20 years and this was the second time I have done Hamlet. The Scenic Design is by Brian Clinnin of Fort Worth, costumes were designed by Ric Dreumont Leal.
Lawson Taite of The Dallas Morning News said,"Brian Clinnin's set, Michael Skinner's lighting and Ric Dreumont Leal's costumes create an early Renaissance vision in russets and browns. The ghost scenes are spooky and fantastic."
Clyde Berry of Pegasus News said "Michael Skinner's lights work very well with Brian Clinnin's set design. In the thrust space, a large series of arches crown the stage, heavy and omnipresent, a very good choice for this play and space. There is a large tapestry at the rear. With Skinner's lights, the barren deck serves as both indoor and outdoor spaces by way of gobos and breakouts. I really like how the arches could be both internal and external features. These two folks have worked well together to create a very playable area with diverse looks, that director T.J. Walsh, stages upon with simplistic and effective pictures."
M. Lance Lusk of Theatre Jones wrote "Michael Skinner and David H.M. Lambert’s light and sound create an arresting and spooky atmosphere, particularly during the ghost scenes."
