This was my first Macbeth to design, and the director chose to do it in a post apocolyptic world. My challenge was to create a world with found weapons (including the two or three swords scrounged from museum basements) and given to only the highest ranking warriors. Nothing survived the wars except concrete, broken pipes, and steel girders.  I enjoyed this design because I had to imagine what could and could not have survived, and how they would use it. The director also wanted to hang Macbeth and Lady Macbeth by their feet for the last scene. So, with pipes left standing from a wall that was no longer there, they were hung. Oh, and they just happened to look like a large M.
